Guests couldn't say enough good things about the owners, Alain and Dorothy. Alain was said to be especially knowledgeable, and very patient when explaining to guest how to get the most out of their trip to Marrakech.
While guests did like the décor, both in their rooms and the public areas, it seems that it was not the decor itself, but rather the sense of peace and tranquillity it contributed to that guests really appreciated. The streets of Marrakech can be very busy and disconcerting for new arrivals and guests loved having the peaceful oasis of the riad to return to when it all got a bit too much.
Although not claimed to be the best food they ever had, many guests felt that the food offered at the hotel, especially at breakfast, was quite good.
While not often mentioned, it was reported that there was no lift in the building. While this is typical of riads, the fact is that if one has mobility issues it will be hard to get up to the rooms and also to make use of the lovely rooftop terrace.
This seemed to be the most common, and most serious, complaint. Guests mentioned that the riad was some way from Jamaa El Fna and other attraction in Marrakech. Also, it was said to be particularly difficult to find. But most seriously, several felt that the immediate neighbourhood was intimidating and unsafe, with some not feeling comfortable walking there.
Several guests mentioned that the courtyard pool wasn't so much a pool as an oversized jacuzzi. They felt it would not really be possible to actually swim in it.
