Hotel Residenza Sole Amalfi (Amalfi, Italy)

Few guests fail to mention the hotel's exceptionally good location on a quiet street very close to the Town Square, Cathedral, and harbour. Some guests have reported a very fine view of the city from their sunny, spacious rooms, some of which open directly onto the rooftop terrace.

Many guests are pleased to find the rooms very clean. Though the reception desk is not staffed 24-hours, many guests who interact with the owner or receptionist during business hours often describe them as very helpful and hospitable.

Many guests are quick to note that accommodation in Amalfi is generally quite expensive, and that the Residenza Sole offers reasonable value for money. Hospitable gestures for no additional charge (such as in-room breakfast service and/or a pre-packed breakfast for guests departing early in the morning) are often mentioned in this context.

Some guests have found the outdoor staircase too hard to take, though the hotel offers assistance with transporting luggage. Several travellers have commented that it is difficult to entirely avoid steep staircases in Amalfi.

The Residenza Sole has only eight rooms, and guests who have stayed in more than one note that some are roomier and airier than others. One constant, however, seems to be the decor, which is widely considered a little dated.

Some guests have been kept awake by concerts in the town square or noisy fellow travellers enjoying the terrace. A few guests have reported difficulty closing the windows tightly enough to seal out exterior noise.
