It was clearly Residence Amalfi's location, right by the harbour and beach, that most impressed its guests. They loved the convenience of being able to walk to the ferry port, from where they could take a daytrip to Capri, or alternatively just stroll over to the beach.
Several guests mentioned being most impressed with the elegance of the hotel. The outside was described classical and imposing, while the inside was said to have the refined elegance typical of many luxury hotels in Italy.
Together with the central position, guests enjoyed being in a spot where they could enjoy fantastic views out over the Mediterranean. It was suggested that other guest should try hard to secure a sea facing room.
Guests found that the great central location did not come without a cost. That cost was noise from the street that caused some guests sleep to be disturbed. Both cars passing by and revellers in high spirits were mentioned sources of the noise.
Though, surprisingly, not mentioned too often, it seems that the rooms at Residence Amalfi do not have air conditioning. Since this stretch of coast can obviously get quite hot in summer, guests missed having air conditioning to cool things down, especially at night.
There were quite a number of complaints concerning the Wi-Fi. It was said to be very unreliable, with the connection being lost or unavailable at times, as well as a bit too slow even when a connection was established.
