The Waldorf Randwick Serviced Apartments are designed to be like a second home for long-term guests. This fully equipped and furnished hotel is located next to the racecourse, and many who travel for business state that this is one of the best places in the area. The underground parking is a definite plus during bad weather.
Not only do these rooms come with fully equipped kitchens, but they also come with washing machines and dryers, which most furnished apartments/hotels do not provide.
The hotel is run by a husband and wife team who are friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area. Both managers are very willing to go above and beyond to accommodate guests.
Most who have stayed here state that the furnishings and the electrical equipment (television, kettle) are threadbare, broken, or only worked intermittently. There's no rubbish service and you will be charged a fee if you don't carry the rubbish out.
Upon arriving at the Waldorf you can't use their parking area. Additionally, if you return to the hotel late in the evening the access card won't work and you'll have to use your phone to ring up someone from the front desk to come and let you in. Very inconvenient.
The hotel is near a racetrack, so at any given point there will be noise from the racetrack. Those who wish for a quieter stay can opt to request a room that does not overlook the raceway, or request a room on one of the higher levels.
