Bondi Beach (Sydney, Australia)

Bondi Beach is a Dream Come True for Surfers and Sunbathers

Think Australia and before long, dreams emerge of sunshine, beaches, surfing, sensational scenery, and, of course the world-famous, white sand and crescent-shaped Bondi Beach. No way does the reality disappoint as the beach and the surrounding areas combine to create a real corker of a day out, or even the basis for a longer stay. Logistically, the eastern suburbs of Sydney are about six kilometres away and are walkable along the Coogee Coastal Walk. Many though choose to get here quicker by road or train so they don’t miss out on those rays and waves.

Bondi Beach has Year-Round Appeal

Mild or coolish in winter and warm or hot weather conditions in summer make Bondi Beach’s sub-tropical climate a year-round draw. Can there really be, for instance, anywhere better to enjoy on Christmas Day than riding the surf and sunbathing on Bondi Beach? Well, on this particular day, the pubs are shut and the beach is alcohol free, so the answer from some visitors might be, yes. Throughout the year though, there are great attractions to enjoy. In September, you can go fly your kite at the annual Festival of the Winds and most weekends see the Bondi Markets in the grounds of Bondi Beach Public School. During the October and November period it’s well worth strolling over to Coogee Coastal Walk to see the inspiring Sculptures by the Sea. For those visitors who are staying over; the bars, restaurants, nightclubs, and even an Irish pub, make for a fun end to a fabulous day.

Unpopular Sharks and Fabulous Icebergs are Here at Bondi Beach

Shark attacks are rare, but not unheard of; hence the presence of trained lifeguards and some pretty nifty technology. Far more appealing than sharks is Bondi Icebergs’ sea water and seaside pool which is open all year for kids and adults. There is an optional club for residents where kids can join as ice cubes and become fully fledged icebergs at 18. Use of a sauna is included in the pool admission charge. Indoor and outdoor seating areas and terrific views are on the menu at the Club Bistro, along with varied dining options that include vegetarian and vegan choices. Yoga, a gymnasium, and swimming tuition are also available at Bondi Icebergs. This is a major Bondi attraction; just make sure that you take some ID when you visit.

Bondi Beach is a Great Place for an Iconic Seaside Break

Bondi Beach is one of Australia’s most popular visitor attractions, so it comes as no surprise to find great choices of hotels and other places to stay. Most are within walking distance of that famous beach, so no worries on that score. Hotel Ravesis, for instance, is one of the high end establishments, but you might prefer to opt for self-catering at say, the Adina Apartment Hotel. The Baxley is one of the area’s many guesthouses and The Village is a hostel, popular with the many flat-walleted backpackers and travellers whose sole aim is to unpack and just soak up the sun. A visit to trivago results in clearer accommodation solutions for all. It saves time and enables you to hit the fabulous Bondi Beach just that bit quicker.
