Hotel Pod 39 (New York, USA)

With Grand Central Station a three-minute walk away, the hotel is in an excellent location for you to explore the length and breadth of Manhattan Island. Guests mentioned that the location and price of this accomodation is by far its best feature.

Guests staying at Pod 39 commented that the staff where very friendly, polite and attentive. A number of reviewers reported that the check-in and check-out process with particularly smooth, quick and stress-free.

Native New Yorkers frequent this popular rooftop bar with its views over midtown. Guests commented that it was a super cool and trendy space to have a drink, but be sure to get there early as the crowds do build quickly.

A number of guests commented that, notwithstanding they recognized that the size of the pod would mean that they would be in close quarters with someone else, they felt that more could have been done to ensure that the bathroom section of the space maintained more privacy. For many the frosted glass shower screen did not pass the privacy test.

The size of the pod rooms do not lend themselves to the standard amenities found in luxury accommodation. A number of guests still commented that more services could have been provided including a refrigerator, minibar and/or coffee/tea making facilities. Guests should be aware of this when booking this style of accommodation.

Notwithstanding that the rooms, do what they say on the tin! and reflect a pod style, many guests still provided comment that the rooms were much smaller than what they anticipated. Some guests have suggested more thought could be given to hanging space.
