Facilities at The Buttes- A Marriott Resort include a spa, fitness centre- with weights and cardio equipment, two pools, a jogging trail, sauna, four tennis courts and two sand volleyball courts. Guests can enjoy meals at the contemporary Top of The Rock Restaurant, southwest flavours at the Market Cafe- with attached waterfall and Koi pond, or a more informal atmosphere at the Thirsty Cactus Bar and Grill, Lobby Lounge or on-resort Starbucks. Desert Botanical Gardens and Phoenix Zoo are a 13-minute drive away, while the Tempe Diablo Baseball Stadium is a five-minute walk.
Staff at the hotel are friendly and helpful and, while upbeat, always remain professional. Unlike in some hotels, they seem genuinely pleased to work there. Requests for directions or assistance are dealt with efficiently, and with a smile.
The hotel enjoys a truly unique setting. Set directly into the mountainside, among the desert landscape, with hiking and jogging trails accessible directly from the hotel, guests love escaping to The Buttes. Views- especially from the Top of The Rock Restaurant are outstanding.

If you prefer to enjoy a more relaxed pace, there are several dining options, room service is also available and- for those who can't wait to get home for their coffee fix, a Starbucks.
Some previous guests have voiced concerns over the additional charges levied at the hotel. While it is hardly a budget option, guests are charged for self parking and also for Wi-Fi in their rooms (although it is free in the lobby).
