An exclusive sixteenth-century mill expertly renovated following the tenets of eco-architecture, interpreting with extreme modernism the magic of a period location. Located just a few kilometres from the Rho exhibition complex and not far from the Cusago Castle, which is always in view, the 4-star Hotel Mulino Grande is in the middle of the South Milan Agricultural Park. The Hotel Mulino Grande is deeply sensitive to the environment, from the choice of strictly natural materials to the use of renewable energy sources. Just as water power sustained the life of the Mulino Grande in the past, today the air conditioning of the complex is entrusted to another renewable energy source: geothermal energy. Architectural recuperation, design and ecology, geothermics for air conditioning the interior spaces, solar panels for heating water and high-tech solutions: these are the distinguishing characteristics of the project to recover this historic structure. The project to recuperate and transform the old rural complex is tied to a desire to maintain a relationship with the local roots.
