The hotel is located in a quiet residential area but is still close to the beach and shopping areas. Guests can catch a taxi or take a bus from very close to the hotel. The Puerto Portals leisure complex and Real Club de Gold Bendinat are close by too and the centre of town is easily accessible from the hotel.
The hotel has been refurbished recently and the rooms are well appointed and clean according to a great many guest reviews. Set in their own extensive gardens, the hotel has mini golf, two pools and a tennis court. Rooms are well appointed with a full bathroom and balcony with lovely views.
The staff is helpful, polite and friendly and happy to help in any way they can, say guests. The food is good and varied; the service at the hotel’s restaurant and bar also receive positive mentions from guests. The staff goes out of their way to provide little extras for special occasions where possible.
The complimentary Wi-Fi signal at Riu Bonanza Park is strong at the reception but weak in some of the rooms.
There is no tea/coffee maker in the room, which should be provided in a four star property felt guests. Towels for the pool have to be hired and a deposit paid. Several guests felt that the a/c in the rooms was inadequate.
The rooms towards the road can get noisy because of the traffic noise.
