Arriving at the hotel, many guests were impressed with the expansive and picturesque grounds that surround this Georgian Manor house. The tranquility of the gardens, which feature a championship golf course, suited many who were keen to get away from the hustle and bustle.
Many guests said that the decor of their rooms was pleasant and that they had plenty of space to stow away their belongings. Those who needed to work appreciated having desks which were convenient for placing their laptops on. The bathrooms were also said to be spacious and well-equipped with powerful showers.
The facilities within the on-site leisure centre were praised by the guests as many thoroughly enjoyed using the pool, the steam rooms and the Jacuzzi as well as the ultra-modern gym. Those who came here for the golf, were equally complimentary about the 18-hole course which they said was very well-presented.
The hotel is a popular venue for wedding receptions and other parties which means that the premises are often populated with large groups of rather noisy guests. Loud music from the function suite kept some resident guests awake as well as the noise made by the revelers.
There is no lounge within the hotel where guests can sit and relax with a few drinks or just read their paper. Many objected to the fact that the bar is situated in the reception area where it can get very crowded and cramped.
Not all rooms have a scenic view and some guests were disappointed to find that their room overlooks the rear of the building where the refuse bins are kept.
