Situated in the heart of Newport, La Farge Perry House is a delightful historic inn offering elegant New England style accommodation in a property once occupied by the renowned stained glass artist John La Farge. The rooms are exquisitely decorated and furnished, with a lovely combination of antique pieces and some modern elements. They feature all the amenities you could possibly need, with some even having jacuzzi baths. The inn features a beautiful porch, ideal for lazy summer days and a cosy guest lounge with roaring fireplace perfect for the winter. A complimentary gourmet breakfast is served every morning, while the inn hosts a welcome hour featuring wine, cheese and fruit every afternoon. Reception staff can offer restaurant recommendations if required. Newport Harbour, with its marinas and multitude of sailing vessels, is less than a mile from La Farge Perry House. Those wanting to walk Rhode Island’s famous Cliff Walk will find its start less than two miles from the inn.
Guests really seemed to like the position of the inn. It was described as very central, and so within easy waking distance of many attractions. The two most often motioned by guests were the small craft harbour and the many grand mansions that draw so many to Newport.
This was by far what most impressed guests during their stay. They had special praise for the hostess, who was said to be the perfect inn keeper. She definitely went above and beyond in making sure her guests had all they needed for their stay, and was said to sometimes even surprise with unexpected eats and other treats when guests cetianly appreciated.
Guests couldn’t get over how well maintained the property was. It seemed it was impossible to find fault, no matter how small or no matter how hard one looked. Guests felt that the inn was perfectly maintained and perfectly clean at all times, indicating a tremendous attention to detail on the part of the hostess and staff.
