Situated in a lovely peaceful spot 10 miles east of Marrakech, Kasbah Chwiter offers rustic and traditional Moroccan-style accommodation to guests looking for a bit of a quieter experience. Traditional Moroccan food is available at Kasbah Chwitter, with meal times being relatively flexible. There is also a small bar, which is a great spot to meet fellow travellers. Other than the property itself, most guests also visit Marrakech, 10 miles away. Its airport is 15 miles from the hotel, and there are transfers available.
Many guests seemed to have arrived at Kasbah Chwiter after spending some time in hectic Marrakech. The contrast was palpable, with guests really enjoying the peaceful site out in the countryside, as well as the gorgeous views of the surroundings.
While there was a significant language barrier, guests nonetheless complimented the staff on doing their very best to welcome them, and provide what they needed for their holiday. The owner was said to lead from the font by being exceptionally hands-on.
While guests conceded that the hotel does not have the flash amenities of the luxury properties surrounding Marrakech, they felt that this meant that they got to experience the lovely country atmosphere at a very good room rate.
While many treated the hotel as a sort of private retreat, and were happy with the extremely remote location, there were also many who felt it was too far away from the action. Those who didn't have access to a car felt especially isolated, and may perhaps have found what they were looking for in Marrakech itself.
While the owners and staff were universally well-liked, many also reported that they speak very little English. Those who didn't understand French or Arabic had a very difficult time expressing their needs to the staff.
While the food offered on-site was generally well-liked, several guests point out that it costs at least double what you'd pay in Marrakech itself. Since the property is so remote, with no other dining options nearby, some thought this meant they were being taken advantage of.
