Invergarry is a characterful 4-star inn in the Highland village of Invergarry, where it overlooks the River Garry, a ten-minute drive from Fort Augustus and Loch Ness. This former coaching inn dates back to 1885 and has garden seating with views over the majestic forests and mountains. All of the 12 rooms are en-suite and non-smoking, and each comes with a TV, telephone, free Wi-Fi, and tea & coffee facilities. The Garden Room can accommodate meetings of up to 24 people, free private parking is available, and guests can enjoy two lounges with open fire places. Complimentary cooked Scottish breakfasts are included in the price, The Brasserie serves Michelin-recommended food and the bar has real ales and more than 50 malt whiskies. Invergarry is about one hour’s drive south-west from Inverness, 24.3 miles to the north-east of Fort William, and is well-placed for those travelling to the Isle of Skye.
Invergarry guests were rapt with the beautiful Highland scenery surrounding the inn, the pleasant river walks starting nearby, and many found it a great stopping point for trips heading north or coming south.
People raved about the meals served here, and while they may be of a simple, traditional style, they were found to be delicious, very well presented and large. The breakfasts were also found to be among the best and the Scotch selection in the bar impressive.
You will find the rooms to be generally rather spacious, tastefully decorated and luxuriously appointed and featuring very comfortable linen.
A few of those who stayed at Invergarry found some small matters which they wanted to raise: the lack of lift meaning you’ll have to take some stairs, the food being a little expensive for their tastes, the mattresses being too soft for some and a few finding the smaller rooms to be a little cramped or to have low ceilings. However, overall these were not the views expressed by the majority and were not huge issues in light of the stay.
