Hotel Hostal Oliver (Madrid, Spain)

Great location as far as getting around is concerned. It's right in the centre of the city and very close to Plaza del Sol. The Vodafone station is not far either.

Surprisingly, the mattress is not too bad. It's designed from memory foam, which provides decent comfort.

The place is doable if you are on a budget. There's no kitchen just a microwave but it's fine for what it is. Don't expect any luxury though.

The hostel is located around a lot of bars, which means plenty of noise and just about everything else. If you encounter a smell in your room, which is possible, you will want to keep the window open, which in turn means intense noise blasting through your window through the night. Moreover, the walls are extremely thin and you can hear other visitors in their room and the hallway.

You may find your room has no hot water. The housekeeping could be improved and cleaning is iffy at best. If you don't speak any Spanish, it could turn into a game of charades. There's little to no Wi-Fi. Linens are worn, and smells and broken windows could also be part of your experience while staying at the facility.

You won't find the personnel speaking any English at the hostel. On top of that, it's tricky to find and the street is dark.
