If you're wanting to explore the Garden District of NOLA, this hotel can't be beat for location. It is close to countless great restaurants, bars, and attractions. Plus, the St. Charles Streetcar has a stop right outside the front door with an easy hop to Loyola and Audubon Park.

The hotel has an inexpensive rate in an expensive city. The value grows when you consider the free breakfast, free WiFi, and free parking. The rooms are clean and comfortable and make for a pleasant, and cheap, stay.

The rooms give a bit of that distinctive NOLA ambiance with the lovely pool area which is enclosed by a brick wall. Some rooms have French doors opening onto secluded patio areas. Inside the rooms are decorated nicely with comfortable bedding and the WiFi works great.

The hotel has renovations ongoing and the halls and all rooms remain open. This means that some construction noise can be heard, although you won't have the feeling of being in a construction zone. While quiet hours are observed, some noise can be heard during the day.

There are some computer problems, most notably with booking, billing, and assigning points to honors members. While these are pleasantly solved, they can be a hassle to straighten out.

The rooms are quite small and you might feel a bit cramped if multiple people are staying in the room. The rooms aren't the only thing with size issues. The pool is a lap pool, instead of a relaxing swimming pool, and won't really work for splashing about or for kids. Also, the parking lot is small and can get cramped during busy times.
