Hotel Grand Welcome Mammoth (Mammoth Lakes, USA)

These are good budget rentals in an excellent location for Mammoth Mountain, on the handy shuttle route to Conway Lodge. Plenty of parking (ask about covered/underground areas for particularly snowy days) and near Vons grocery store if you need a few things for cooking in your kitchenette.

The rooms are spacious, tidy and peaceful, so you'll sleep well. Various types of decor and amenities in each due to having numerous different owners. Some have superb jacuzzi tubs and sauna facilities for warming up after your time on the slopes!

Staff is enthusiastic and friendly for the most part. The reservations system is simple with polite staff manning the phones and doing the scheduling. They're very thorough, so you'll probably receive several email confirmations about your booking - keep them in case you need them later. Let them know if you'll be arriving after their office hours end and they'll explain the procedure to you for after-hours arrivals. You must locate your cabin's key lock box and access it with the appropriate lock combination. This may take a few tries. You can usually get fresh paper towels, toilet paper and/or bath towels from staff easily.

You may find your cabin doesn't have enough bathroom supplies, cookware or dish towels, requiring a call to staff or a visit to the nearest store.

Some may find they need to re-wash the dishes or floors before they feel comfortable. Others may find door handles fall off or stoves, jacuzzi tubs or refrigerators don't work. Let staff know right away.

Staff may be strict about check-in/out times, so don't be surprised if you're waiting a while or leaving earlier than you'd prefer.
