Located in Yorkers Knob, a ten minute drive from central Cairns, the Golden Sands Beachfront is the perfect base from which to explore the Great Barrier Reef and tropical far north Queensland. One and two bedroom apartments include fully equipped kitchens with fridge, microwave and oven, a separate lounge with pull out sofa and TV. All apartments are air conditioned and have laundry facilities. Wi-Fi is free. Play a game of tennis or table tennis then cool off in the Golden Sands Beachfront outdoor swimming pool or simply laze on the sun terrace. The Star Apple Restaurant on-site serves tasty Asian inspired dishes and is open for dinner. For breakfast and lunch guests can grab a bite at local cafes or head into central Cairns to try the restaurant along the Esplande. Central Cairns is a ten minute drive from the Golden Sands Beachfront.  The Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is a five minute drive, as it the Skyway Rainforest Cableway up to Kuranda.

Lagoon Pool

Guests raved about the sparkling and clear waters of the lagoon-style pool at the hotel. Guests also mentioned that the beach was also only a two minute walk from the hotel which was very handy.

The food served at the restaurant was rated highly be previous guests who stayed here with many saying that it was super tasty and that there was a good menu available.

Deep Clean Needed

Guests with an eye for detail noticed that whilst appearing clean on the surface there was a load of caked on dirt and mould in areas not usually touched by cleaning staff, during a normal room change over. These guests suggested that the cleaners do a regular deep clean of the units to remove built up grime.

Renovation Required

Guests were disappointed to find broken TV's and TV remotes, broken down air conditioning units and smelly cigarette stained furnishings in their rooms which guests suggested needed to be replaced or repaired.

No Free Wi-Fi

Guests were not happy that the hotel did not offer free Wi-Fi as standard with many guests saying that in this day and age free Wi-Fi should be a feature of all hotels.
