Situated in one of Spain’s top golf estates, Finca Cortesin Golf and Spa Hotel offers exquisitely luxurious accommodation in a resort complex with a grand sense of space. Available rooms range from junior suites to private villas, but all have a tremendous sense of refined elegance. Each features air conditioning, LCD TV, in room safe, iPod dock, free Wi-Fi and a separate seating area. The resort amenities are extensive and too numerous to mention, but include one of Europe’s top golf courses, three pools, extensive spa, tennis courts and even a massive private beach club at the nearby beach. El Jardin de Lutz is the award winning on-site restaurant. It serves exquisitely prepared Spanish cuisine in a unique environment overlooking 1,000 year old olive trees. The main attractions are the resort’s facilities, and the nearby beach club. The luxury resort town of Marbella is about 26 miles to the east.
Finca Cortesin is an unabashedly luxury resort, attracting guests with very high expectations indeed. The rooms, facilities and so on were certainly well reviewed by nearly all, but what really stood out for many was that the hotel showed great attention to detail. Many guests felt that it was this attention, to the level of obsession at times, which marked this resort as a true luxury property.
Of course guests knew that they would have available many sports and other facilities, but that didn't stop them from being impressed with the extent of what was on offer. For them, the benefit of being in such a big resort was that they could not possibly get bored, even if they never left the resort.
While there were one or two minor issues with the main restaurant, guests readily admitted that they were nit-picking. The food was said to be top class, and partly due to various dress codes, the evening meal was said to be served in a most refined atmosphere.
Firstly, it must be stated that the reviews of Finca Cortesin where simply overwhelmingly positive. One tiny thing mentioned was that the hotels main restaurant, while offering spectacular food, had a menu with too little variety for some.
While most guests seemed satisfied with the value they received, a few did mention that the rooms-rates were quite a bit higher than they were used to paying.
A couple of guests mentioned that some of the facilities, like the beach club, could be closed for functions or to accommodate celebrities and their party. Naturally they felt quite unhappy about this.
