A number of guests mentioned that their non-smoking room smelled suspiciously like…smoke. Guests didn’t seem to think that they had recently been occupied by a smokers, but had perhaps been converted from a smoking room some time back and not been properly scrubbed and had the soft furniture replaced. Guests also complained about smoke lingering in the hallways.

Guests really did not think very highly of the hotel’s staff. The front desk staff came in for especially harsh criticism for being indifferent, at best, and even actively rude on occasion. The general feeling seemed to be that they, the guest, were not really high up on the staff’s list of priorities.

An extraordinary number of guests described arriving at, or even well after, the official check in time, only to be told that their room was not ready yet. While some had certain thoughts as to why this was the case, relating to rooms maybe being rented by the hour, whatever the reason, guests felt that they had booked and paid for the room and were not being provided with what was paid for.
