Situated in a lovely Victorian conversion just minutes’ from Princes Street, the Dreamhouse Apartments West End offers guests ultra-chic décor and furniture in a great central location. The one and two bedroom apartments have that sleek and modern look, but with the odd flashes of colour. Each features a fully equipped kitchen, including dishwasher and washer/dryer, flat screen TV with freeview channels, hairdryer and welcome amenity pack. This is an apartment rental, rather than an aparthotel, and there are no real amenities. Free in-room Wi-Fi is available however. The apartments are self catering, of course, but those looking for a bit of a cooking break will find numerous eateries in the neighbourhood. The brave can even seek out haggis, tatties and neaps. Wonderful Princes Street is less than a mile from Dream House Edinburgh, while Holyrood Palace itself is 1.5 miles away.

While there are few reviews for Dreamhouse Edinburgh West End, past guests mentioned that the location of the apartments is very good - just a few minutes walk from Princes Street, the tourist heart of the Scottish capital.
While there were complaints about things “falling apart”, guests did seem to appreciate the modern equipment and décor in the apartment. Perhaps the contrast with the Victorian exterior highlighted the modernity more than if it had been in a newer apartment building.
It was mentioned that the kitchens were quite big, certainly much bigger than the “kitchenettes” that are often found in apartment rentals.
It seems that some of the apartments may have a few relatively minor problems with fixtures and fittings that could easily be fixed by a handyman. The fact that they were not fixed did not give guests confidence, since it was believed that if the little things were not taken care of bigger issues would soon arise.
It seems there is no free parking at the apartment or nearby. Payment is required for both. Perhaps unsurprisingly, given the central location, it was found that parking in the area was a bit pricey.
Though there are modern flat screen TV's in the living rooms, it seems that the TV's in the bedrooms may be of the old cathode ray tube kind.
