First timers to The City of Light love this hotel's location. Sightseeing begins as you step outside while a nearby metro connects you to the abundant wonders of the capital. Despite the excellent locale, traffic is at a premium, meaning a night's sleep unbroken by noise.

Countless comments attest to the cleanliness of rooms and common areas. Recently refurbished rooms and bathrooms are small but spotless, and hard-working housekeepers ensure you return to an immaculate room with fresh towels every evening of your stay. Lobby and breakfast areas are equally well maintained.

Foodies are beyond impressed with the hotel's culinary offerings. The massive array of options at the breakfast buffet is a huge hit with reviewers who also love the setting. The evening-time offerings are apparently a little pricey, but worth every Euro when you consider the quality being purveyed.

While accommodations are invariably spotless, some are a little on the small side. Storage is in short supply, shower cubicles are claustrophobic and the toilet is tiny. Overnighters are less concerned with the cosy sleeping quarters, but those staying longer may want to pre-book a larger room.

While most enjoy a memorable and trouble-free stay, occasional issues blight some stopovers. Among the small list of guest grievances are unready rooms, the lack of in-room minibar/water, slow elevators, billing discrepancies, aloof staff, slow responses to requests and a long walk to the nearest metro station.
