Ashfield House has a four star rating and is located right in the centre of Dublin close to Temple bar.
The rooms can either be shared dorms or private rooms which all have showers, free Wi-Fi and plenty of storage. Each guests has their own key for easy access whatever the time.
Ashfield House has recently been taken over and renewed. They offer vending machines, a continental breakfast and a 'eat me I'm free cabinet in the kitchen'!
Food can be eaten on the premises but a stones throw away guests can find Pearl Brasserie for French Cuisine, F.X Buckley steakhouse, or Sabor Brazil for Brazillian food.
Dublin is an amazing City with a vast amount of things to see and do such as looking round St Patricks cathedral, shopping on Grafton Street, strolling around Dublin Zoo or walking the walls of the City and taking in the history.
The hostel has many reviews about the little things they include such as tea and coffee whenever you like, freebies in the kitchen and maps. There is no curfew and the rooms are spacious enough to feel like you have your own cubicle in the dorms.
positive:
Great reception staff
The reception staff have amazing feedback when guests have arrived. They're upbeat, friendly and only happy to help in any way they can. A great start to your stay.
positive:
Five minutes from everything
The hostel could not be closer to everything in the centre of Dublin. The bars, shops and sights are literally five minutes away. Most stay here due to the location and how easy it is to find even in the dark after a night out!
Negative Reviews
negative:
You make your own bed
There are reviews from previous guests who have been disappointed that you have to make your own bed especially when you have been travelling for hours and want to sleep. You are given your bedding as you check in and towels are provided in the bathrooms.
negative:
Very noisy
There are unfortunately comments from travellers who have stayed regarding noise. There are a mix of different age groups who stay, some come to party, others use the hostel as a stop off when travelling so there may be noise on an evening from people either going out or coming in. Private rooms can be aquired.
negative:
Grubby bathrooms
The bathrooms which are shared have been described as grubby. There is mould around the units, dirty floors and towels left by previous people.
