Members of staff are very friendly and helpful. They’ll even print off your boarding passes for you, if needed.

There’s good access to the resort centre and beaches. The apartments are quite centrally located, so nightlife and restaurants are an easy walk away. They are somewhat quieter, though, than those in the very centre of the town.

The apartments are of a good size with plenty of space. They are also very clean. Many have a private balcony/patio and there’s a nice communal pool.

Playa del Ingles is recognised as Gran Canaria’s party hot spot-and with good reason. At night, the drink flows like water and fellow guests, who were very pleasant during daylight hours, can become foul-mouthed, noisy and a real pain. At this point, you realise that there is no night-time front desk cover. With no supervision, the building becomes a rowdy ‘free for all’.

Imagine life in most countries without any form of heating. Unbearable! Here, thanks to a gloriously warm climate, air conditioning is just as important. There’s no air conditioning here though. At night, you choose to either open the windows and allow in the incessant traffic noise; or opt for closed windows, peace, quiet … and intense heat and humidity. The choice is yours.

The level of bathroom mould makes you wonder about the health implications of staying here. Another point of concern relates to Wi-Fi and the high daily rental cost; particularly when elsewhere, it would be entirely free of charge.
