Given the hotel’s prime location in downtown Chula Vista and the several places of interest a short drive away, El Primero’s secure parking is extremely convenient and there is enough for all guests, even when fully booked.

Even compared to many restaurant and paid hotel breakfasts, El Primero’s daily breakfast buffet is a winner with previous guests for its variety in options (fruit, sausages, fresh bread and more) as well as being mostly home-made by the owners which just adds to the home-away-from-home atmosphere and experience.
There is no in-house dining after breakfast and rooms have no microwave to heat up food, which some may prefer especially with takeout, for example. Some do have mini-fridges however, and there are plenty of restaurants in the area.
The only access into the hotel is the one door which leads from the street to the lobby and this is usually locked. Guests must ring the bell and wait for the staff to unlock it for them which can be a slight inconvenience at times.
As the hotel is on a fairly busy main street, there may be some noise from traffic in the rooms that face the street. There are however rooms that face away from this main street.
