Guests rated the location as the best thing about the Consulate hotel. They loved the views of the city and harbor and easy access to the beaches, Sea World and Old Town and other San Diego attractions.

While the Consulate is an older building and showing signs of age, it is close to San Diego's beaches and tourist spots and, because of this, guests thought the hotel offered exceptional value, especially when compared to other hotels in the area.They described the accommodations as clean and comfortable and appreciated the water views and amenities such as the pool , fitness room and on site parking. .
