VanDusen Botanical Garden (Vancouver, Canada)

The VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver takes its name from the local philanthropist Whitford Julian Van Dusen. It is located in the Shaughnessy neighbourhood of the city and covers an area of 55 acres. It first opened to the public on 30 August 1975. The park is managed by the Vancouver Park Board who charge an admission fee to enter it. Facilities within the park include a restaurant, a book shop and a seed library. Throughout the park there are good quality footpaths that are lined with carved totem poles and the vast number of plants on display includes a large collection of Rhododendrons.
