M&M’s World Las Vegas: Fun for Chocoholics of All Ages
Did you know that M&Ms were the very first candies in outer space? Astronauts snacked on them aboard the space shuttle Columbia, in 1981. Invented by the creator of the Mars Bar, Forrest E. Mars, M&Ms were an instant hit with American chocoholics when they were released in the 1940’s, and soon became popular around the world. When the M&M’S Chocolate Candies Color Vote was held in 2002, about 10 million ballots were cast by voters all over the globe! Surely a candy with so many fans and such a rich history deserves a massive retail store of its very own—but M&M’s doesn’t have one. It has five: you can visit the M&M’s World store in Las Vegas, New York, Orlando, London, and Shanghai.
One of the Tastiest of All Las Vegas Attractions
Easily one of the sweetest places to visit in the city, M&M’s World Las Vegas was the first of the brand’s five retail stores. The 28,000 square foot property features four floors of fun M&M merchandise and colorful photo ops, including a stunning “rainbow wall” on the second floor. The wall features 125 huge tubes of M&M’s in 22 different colours and 11 flavors, including ones you probably won’t find in your local convenience store, such as Chili Nut. Be sure to try before you buy! Other highlights include the “My M&Ms” machine, which allows you to print a custom message on your favourite candies, and a full-size replica of Kyle Busch’s 18 M&M’S sponsored NASCAR race car. M&M’s World Las Vegas also offers free admission to its interactive 3-D movie theatre; “I Left My M in Las Vegas” has a run time of about ten minutes and is appropriate for kids of all ages.

Located within the Showcase Mall on the south end of the famous Las Vegas Strip, M&M’s World is literally surrounded by accommodation options at various price points. The MGM Grand Hotel & Casino and Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino are two among many upscale options within walking distance, while the chic Mandalay Bay, about a mile away, is home to the Shark Reef Aquarium, which tops many a family’s list of Things To Do in Las Vegas.
