Ehrenburg (Brodenbach, Germany)

Die Burg wurde ca. 1125 -vermutlich auf den Resten einer alten Römerbefestigung- errichtet. In den Jahren 1398 - 1621 nannten fünf verschiedene Besitzer die Burg ihr Eigentum, während danach bis 1651 die Spanier sie besetzt hielten. Am 1. November 1688 übernahmen die Franzosen die Burg, bis sie diese 1689 teilweise sprengten. Danach änderten sich immer wieder die Besitzverhältnisse. Seit 1992 kümmert sich ein gemeinnütziger Freundeskreis um den Erhalt der Burg. Heute beherbergt sie ein Hotel mit fünf Doppelzimmern und eine Gaststätte. Als Besonderheit werden auf der Burg sonn- und feiertags verschiedene Mitmachprogramme wie mittelalterliches Handwerk, Bogenschießen u.a. angeboten. Die Burg ist von Ostersonntag bis zum 02. November, mittwochs - samstags von 10:00 bis 16:00 Uhr und sonn- und feiertags von 11:00 bis 18:00 Uhr geöffnet.
