Chorros de Milla Zoo (Merida, Venezuela)

The Chorros de Milla Zoo boasts more than 300.000 visitors per year which makes it the most popular zoo in the country. It is located at the north-eastern side of the town at the foot of a large mountain ravine. The zoo expands over 15 acres of land and features local vegetation, a natural waterfall and a river. The animals in the zoo belong to 149 different species which include mammals, reptiles and insects. The zoo offers a restaurant and a picnic area as well as some scenic cascades. Opening times: Saturday and Sunday 10am - 6pm Summer daily from 8am - 6pm
