Centro histórico (Lima, Peru)

The city of Lima was founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535 and has been the headquarters of Spain’s crown government authority for 282 years. The architecture in the historic centre is in colonial style and many of the buildings have typical balconies. The most interesting places are the Archbishop’s Palace, House of Aliaga, the Cathedral, Basilica and Convent of San Francisco, Plaza Mayor. It was listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.
