Whe Hotel (Portimâo, Portugal)

Though the hotel is some way from Portimão's beaches, guests seem to like the location since it affords great views over the city centre and river, especially from the penthouse restaurant.

Several guests mentioned that the rooms were quite a bit bigger than they expected. They seemed relieved that they didn't need to struggle and keep on bumping into their partner in a tiny room.

Even most guests who had a couple of issues with the hotel conceded that they had received a fairly good room-rate for what was a reasonably stylish hotel in a central location.

A couple of guests mentioned that the hotel seems to be understaffed at times, with each staff member being responsible for more duties than they can reasonably perform. One result seemed to be that service in the bar was slow, on account of the barman being nowhere in sight.

The exact reason was difficult to ascertain, but a fair number of guests had difficulty actually finding the hotel initially. Perhaps it was because of the narrow streets in the area. In an event, it may be wise to print out a detailed map with the location marked before setting off.

While guests typically knew this before arriving, after having stayed there, they concluded that the lack of a pool was actually a pretty serious deficiency they should not have overlooked. Many were in the area for a short break in the sunshine, and concluded that a pool was really a minimum requirement for such a holiday.
