The sea and caldera views are incredible and sunsets don't come any better than those as seen from the (beautiful) rooftop garden and pool. This is a beautiful setting and yet it's only a 10-minute walk to the centre of Fira.

Remember the thriller, ‘The 39 Steps'? Well there's got to be many more than those here, starting with those leading down to the hotel itself. These steps are a potential problem for the elderly and infirm - and for the super-fit, carrying luggage! They aren't the safest area for young, unsupervised kids either.

There' a strange ‘echo' type sound throughout the building. Yes, breakfast is good, but it's the same every day and only served at 8.30 am; useless if you want an early start. The shower doesn't run at a constant temperature. First I's hot and then it runs cold. *Thermostat problem? Mattresses are hard and uncomfortable.
