Under a mile from Steamboat Mountain Ski Area, as soon as powder falls on the mountain, you'll be ready to shush down the mountain on whatever winter apparatus you prefer. During warmer months, you'll also be perfectly situated for long hikes with lovely panoramic vistas.

As many dog owners can attest, not all hotels and motels allow your furry friends to stay with their guardians. If you're traveling with a four-legged companion or two, you won't have any problems getting a room at the Steamboat Hotel.

In addition to being right next to the mountain for perfect skiing, you'll also be close to town for gathering supplies, eating out, shopping, and scores of tourist activities to keep you busy while not skiing. You're also close to many parks and other wilderness resources.

Although the location is ideal for most guests, those with mobility issues may wish to book carefully. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so if you have issues with getting around, you may wish to pick a room on the first floor for ease of access.

The hotel does offer a pool and hot tub for weary travelers to unwind in, but unfortunately, they're both outdoors, and only available during the warmer months. However, if you're not a fan of soaking in the hot tub after a long day, you'll have nothing to worry about.

If you're looking for a full-service hotel equipped with a bar and restaurant, you won't find it here. However, guests of the Steamboat Hotel can grab a quick snack or a beverage from the vending machines or store a small amount of food in the mini-fridge.
