Located in an enviable position right across the road from the beach, Karawan Beach and Resort offers basic but comfortable accommodation and plenty of outdoor leisure amenities. The rooms are very simply furnished, but have everything you need for a good night’s sleep. Each features cool tile floors, en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV and telephone. Karawan’s star attraction must be its massive pool terrace with several pools, water slides and other fun activities for the whole family. There are also dedicated and supervised play areas for the children. There is also an on-site spa with treatments available. K-noe Restaurant serves a wide variety of dishes in an elegant setting, while there are also more casual dining options on the resort. The main attraction must surely be the resort itself and the beach right across the road.
While it was said to be crowded, on account of being right in the city, guests nonetheless seemed to really enjoy being right on the beach. They felt that they could head there for a quick swim or walk whenever the mood struck.
While guests had many kind things to say about the staff in general, it was the animation team that received most of their praise. They were said to be very hard working, and seemed to try to get the guests engaged in the entertainment wherever this was appropriate.
Though not often mentioned, it was reported that the hotel's cable package included a couple of decent English language stations -so English speaking guests were not left without anything to watch on the telly.
This was perhaps the most frequent complaint made by guests. The rooms were said to be extremely basic, and not really the sort of cosy place that one would want to spend a great deal of time. Some took this in their stride on account of their room-rate and the fact that they didn't spend much time in the room anyway, but others were much less understanding.
It was mentioned that, though alcohol is served in the resort, there was only one bar. This meant that, should one want a drink, it often involved quite a trek from where you were to the bar.
While it didn't exactly receive bad reviews, the food served at the hotel didn't garner much praise either. Some said that in itself it was fine, but since it was the same thing day after day they quickly tired of it.
