Motel Snelling Motor Inn (Saint Paul, USA)

The motel is close to the train station and the airport. It's very convenient to the downtown area and great as a layover locale.

The room is sufficiently clean and the staff do try to make it comfortable. The room size is good and most things like the air conditioning work satisfactorily.

Management and staff at the hotel are very accommodating. Don't be surprised if you are offered a ride to the airport if you are running late or upgraded to another room if asked. They've even been known to give out refunds if you check out early. Their courtesy definitely makes staying at the motel a more pleasant experience.

For the price you pay the amenities are nearly zero. There is no complimentary coffee/tea or drinking water. There's nothing extra to justify the price. Even though you do have a mini-fridge to keep your beverages cold, it's nothing unusual in most motels.

There is a light rail train that goes by every few minutes and it's loud. If your room is near the track area, you may have a problem relaxing or sleeping.

The rooms need an update. The décor is dark with old patterned blankets and unattractive furnishings. Not impressive at all. It's a low-level facility and best chosen if you can't find anything else. The area appears a bit dodgy as well.
