Drivers appreciate the secure underground car parking on site, though travellers are most enthusiastic about the location's public transport connections. There is a tram stop right out front which offers a pleasant 10-15 minute commute into the city centre, a journey which takes about 20-30 minutes on foot along the waterfront. The hotel is also within a few minutes' walk of the train station, where guests can also catch a direct bus to the airport.

Recent travellers have expressed frustration with the free Wi-Fi, though many do find it reasonably speedy when it is working.

Guests arriving in the evening hours are often surprised to find just one staff member present to handle other duties as well as reception, which can often result in long waits. The restaurant also closes early in the evenings and on weekends.

Guests often comment that the standard guest room amenities are not up to a "four star" standard (no minibar, paper cups, toilet tissue dispensed by the sheet instead of on a roll, etc). Some guests also warn of a few unfriendly faces at the front desk, and note the neighbourhood is not the "nicest" either, especially after dark.
