Villa Kukuljica offers guest house accommodation about 15 minutes’ drive north of the Dubrovnik Old Town, close to the coastal village of Zaton. The guest house overlooks Zaton Bay, offering private water access from a seaside terrace with sun loungers, Trsteno Arboretum is 11 minutes away by car, and buses stop just 50 metres away. All rooms have Adriatic Sea views, are air conditioned and come with satellite TV, free Wi-Fi and central heating. Free on-site parking is available, in addition to laundry and ironing services. The host also offers airport, cruise and bus pickup, in addition to boat trips to the Elafite Islands. Home-cooked meals from fresh, organic produce are available, and several cafes and restaurants are found within a short walk. Villa Kukuljica is just over ten minutes’ drive from the Dubrovnik Ferry Terminal and Bus Station, and half an hour from Dubrovnik Airport.
Guests were overjoyed to find the Adriatic Sea just steps away, meaning they could jump right in off the terrace, or relax in one of the deck chairs. This reportedly peaceful spot is close to a village with a nice beach and restaurant, and on top of this, Dubrovnik is also easily reachable in a short drive, or by jumping on the bus that stops nearby.
The rooms here were found to be very clean, equipped with good Wi-Fi and comfortably furnished in simple, relaxed fashion — reflecting the idyllic atmosphere of the villa. Even better, Villa Kukuljica’s family hosts were thought to be professional, hospitable and happy and even offer boat trips that pick you up directly from the villa.
Many of those who stayed were very much impressed by what they found to be delicious breakfasts and freshly-cooked dinners from the hosts’ own garden-grown vegetables and freshly caught seafood. Being able enjoy a glass of homemade wine or liqueur on the terrace also went down well.
Guests only occasionally thought to mention a few issues noted during their stay at Villa Kukuljica, namely that there are stairs to access some rooms — so this may not be suitable for the less mobile. Furthermore, some of the older family members are said not to have great English, so there can be a language barrier, but they are apparently still welcoming.
