Victoria Falls Restcamp is a two-star lodge with 39 rooms situated just one mile away from the Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. It has good security with high stainless steel fences and electric fences. The self-catering lodges are provided with bed linen, bathroom, ceiling fans in bedroom, kitchen with stove, fridge and cooking utensils. There are other types of accommodations too available here like single chalets, double chalets, dormitories and luxury tents. Communal ablutions are provided with hot water. Guests can either enjoy a swim in the outdoor pool or carry out other adventurous activities like parasailing, rafting, bungee jumping and river cruises among others. Safe-keeping facilities and laundry services are also provided. Each camping spot has a braai facility and power point. English breakfast served is chargeable. There are two bars/lounges and a restaurant onsite called In Da Belly. Victoria Falls Bridge and Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park are within two miles from Hotel Victoria Falls Restcamp.
Since the restcamp is close to many places, it makes for a good central base. It is close to the falls and shops. The tent is a simple one with beds, mosquito nets and other facilities. The common ablutions are close to the tents, clean and supplied with hot water. Moreover, the entire camping area is very safe and secure say guests.
All the activities could be booked at the reception or directly with the activity companies say guests. Some of the activities are sunset cruise, bungee jumping, white water rafting on the Zambezi, microlight or helicopter ride, canoe & horse trials, flying fox & abseiling and quad biking. The “Big 5” interactive safari is a group of activities that includes many guided game viewing drives. The Devil's pool which is a small rock pool right on the lip of the Victoria Falls is also an adrenaline pumping activity.
Guests found the staff members to be friendly and helpful. They never hesitated in assisting the guests with any of their concerns. Most of the guests loved lazing around in the pool with sun loungers kept along the sides. Kids had an awesome time splashing around the pool in the midst of nature.
Some of the windows did not have screens on them due to which the guests had to keep their windows shut making it really stuffy.
Most of the guests felt that the Wi-Fi charges were quite costly. Moreover, the signal was very erratic.
The absence of plug points in the rooms did not allow the guests to charge their electric gadget in the rooms. They had to go to a common area to use the charging points.
