Hotel Tranquilo (Fort Lauderdale, USA)

Tranquilo Fort Lauderdale is in a central location and close to the beach and the city's attractions. It equally attracts guests on a holiday or on business, or traveling alone or with family. The Canine Beach is within a mile from the hotel as also Bonnet Museum House and Gardens, and Hugh Taylor Birch State Park. The Las Olas Boulevard with its attractive shops, many restaurants and options for entertainment is close by as well.

The hotel has 50 rooms, studios and suites all designed around two startlingly blue and clear pools. The same white decor of the exterior is used for the rooms with a green colour complementing it as well. Every room exudes a classy decor and is equipped with wardrobes and desk. Flat-screen satellite televisions, refrigerators, microwaves and coffee makers are provided in most of the rooms, and some rooms even have sofa beds.

With two outdoor heated pools in all their crystalline glory, the guests at the hotel can bask in the waters and the sunny courtyard with deck chairs. They can hire bicycles and enjoy the tropical city leisurely. The staff is available all day and night and assists guests with chalking out their tickets and tour plans. Guests can use the kitchen amenities in the rooms to whip up a meal or cook out in the barbecue area enjoying the outdoors. Wi-Fi is a complimentary facility.

The hotel does not have any dining options and not even water can be bought on site. The alternative is eating out at a restaurant which is a block away from the hotel.

The rooms close to the pool have chlorine smell prevalent all the time. The air conditioning unit produces too much sound for comfort. Walls are very thin and talk from neighbouring rooms can be clearly heard. Room service staff does not turn up till evening and do not clean the floors well.

Some guests have had their room kitchen infested with ants. Unfortunately, when the ants come, all the food - even the unopened packages - goes to waste.
