Hotel The Zaballa House (Half Moon Bay, USA)

The Zaballa House enjoys a location that is both central in downtown Half Moon Bay and close to beaches. It is ideally a good spot to holiday and guests enjoy a home stay in a central area. They can walk down to the Half Moon Bay and the beaches of Poplar and Miramar are only around three miles from it. They can enjoy playing golf at the Half Moon Golf Links two miles from it or shop and browse the galleries all closely located within walking distance. The Pillar Point Harbor is four miles and downtown Montara is around seven miles from it.

The 16 rooms are spread out in two stories and are all non-smoking. Rooms are individually designed with a colorful decor, antique furnishings and original oils paints. Premium satellite television, kitchenettes and desk are featured in all the rooms while some rooms have fireplaces. Bathrooms are plush and en suite with soaking or whirlpool tubs.

The hotel has a warm lobby with wooden flooring and a fireplace. Guests can relax in front of it with a newspaper or magazine stacked there. Guests can lounge in the reception room as well and they are served a complimentary wine with cheese every afternoon. A delicious continental breakfast is served free. A meeting room and a library are present in the B&B.

Rooms have stained carpets. The furniture appears cheap and has cracks. The mattress on the bed is very thin. The blinds of the windows are broken and the screen torn. Air conditioning is not in working order.

The rooms are prone to noise not just from being on the main street but because the walls are thin enough to let neighboring voices and sounds seep in.

There is neither enough staff to serve breakfast nor enough bowls, napkins and flatware.
