The Oberoi Grand is one of Kolkata's most famous colonial era hotels and is affectionately known by the nickname of 'The Grande Dame of Chowringhee'. It dates back over 125 years to the times when Calcutta was the capital of British India and combines classical Victorian architecture with all the modern facilities required of a five-star hotel. The international airport is 22 km (approx. 45 minutes drive) from the hotel and the two key railway stations Howrah and Sealdah are 3km and 6km away respectively. The hotel has three grades of rooms and three types of suites.
