The tastefully decorated interior outdoes the somewhat drab outer surface, so do come inside to form your opinion. You'll find guests of the rooms can enjoy complimentary hot drinks and there's a charming, private feel to the venue. If you stay the night in the upstairs bedrooms, expect a decent continental spread for breakfast with the option for paid hot dishes as well. Favourites off the menu include fish cakes, warm chicken sandwiches, delightful fish and chips, tasty beer, a varied dessert assortment and extensive wine list.

Tasteful rooms stand at the top of the staircase, each uniquely decorated with lovely bathrooms, stylish decor and cosy bedding.

Staff are friendly and charming throughout your stay. They'll greet you with smiles and explain all the details of menus, specials and accommodations upon your arrival.

Unfortunately the road in front is quite busy which makes for a noisy evening. Ask for a room facing the back or bring your earplugs.

Some may not enjoy the amount of historic character this venue provides. Others may find it adds to the charm. The floors and doors creak while the bedrooms are at the top of an old, quirky staircase. Water pressure is low in the rooms and some of the floors are uneven.

Some may feel the dining isn't as fine as it's set out to be, with the prices higher than warranted for small portions and mediocre quality delivered. The food presentation as well as the room accommodations were below the expectations of some.
