Guests appreciated the convenient location of the Dylan at SFO. They could hop on the BART, just a short walk from the hotel, and quickly be in downtown San Francisco. For many guests the Dylan was a less costly alternative to staying in the city.

Many guests at the Dylan had flights in or out of SFO and they appreciated the hotel's free shuttle to and from the airport. In fact guests frequently noted that they chose the Dylan specifically because of the complimentary shuttle service.

Guests praised the clean, comfortable and spacious rooms, enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and found the staff friendly and accommodating. Two staff members, David and Lajos, were frequently singled out for their helpfulness. Guests also appreciated the convenience of checking their luggage and flexible check-in and check-out times. The afternoon cookies served in the lobby hit the spot for many guests and most agreed that the Dylan was a great place for a good night's sleep before a flight.

Too many people all trying to get breakfast at the same time and in very small quarters made for an unpleasant experience for some guests at the Dylan. Even guests who enjoyed the complimentary breakfast reported that the dining area was too small and crowded.

Some guests thought that the Dylan was more of a motel than the boutique hotel and felt that it was overpriced. Some complained about the water pressure in the bathrooms, others described the complimentary breakfast as mediocre and lacking in quality.

Guests wanting a peaceful night's sleep complained about poor insulation and were disturbed by the noise from other guest rooms, traffic on the street below their bedroom windows and passing trains.
