It is part of Old Saybrook’s early-American shoreline heritage and sits amid other period properties on Main Street. Borrow one of our bikes for an easy ride to marinas and public beaches. Halfway between New York City and Boston, Old Saybrook has rail service that can connect you to either one. Though, you may not want to travel elsewhere once you see the variety of world-class visual and performing arts venues in our neighborhood and surrounding towns. In the house, you'll find many of the original details remain, including the wide-planked wooden floors with square-headed nails, hand-hewn beams, the corner cupboard (dining room) and the beehive oven (kitchen). The Deacon is listed on the National Historic Register. As respectful stewards, we're committed to preserving the historic architecture of our important landmark. Self-service coffee, tea, bottled water, and other snacks are available 24-hours in the dining room. We stock a variety of snacks to meet Kosher and other dietary restrictions.
