Hotel The Blue Water (Wadduwa, Sri Lanka)

Guests are seduced by the stunning setting of The Blue Water, its architecture and sea views. The beach and lovely gardens are also well liked.

The blissful feeling of a dip in the dreamy swimming pool is adored by guests. Many of whom can't get over its huge size. Few have seen such a big hotel pool before.

The buffet food on offer for the all-inclusive guests goes down a treat. Fresh, new dishes are added daily, so it doesn't feel like a canteen. People who eat at the fine restaurant are not disappointed either with its top quality cooking and fresh ingredients.

Sometimes hotels have problems with mosquitos, seagulls or even pigeons. Here it is crows that drive customers around the bend. Like something out of a Hitchcock film, they circle around overhead and make some guests feel intimidated. Just the sight of them whilst relaxing in or around the pool is enough to disturb anyone, especially the noise and the inevitable droppings!

Some guests feel the hotel is starting to look a bit run down. A few cracked or missing tiles in the pool can be forgiven, but when guests notice dirty sofas and bathroom fittings falling apart too, it doesn't give a good impression.

Some guests feel the emphasis on all-inclusive is to its detriment. Cheesy old-fashioned music blares out all day and can give an Ibiza like feel to the place. Some feel that the customer service suffers too; staff find it difficult to cope with crowds and seem to be on the constant look out for tips.
