Hotel The Bayview Pattaya (Pattaya, Thailand)

The hotel is very clean throughout. The lobby is exceptionally attractive and has views to the pool. Don’t miss breakfast; it’s great! The coffee is 1st class ... and someone is poaching eggs to near perfection.

The location is excellent. The hotel is surrounded by shops and restaurants and yet it’s so close to the beach as well, via a road to the rear of the hotel. From some rooms there are spectacular city views whilst others have equally appealing views to the pool. The choice is yours!

Parking is free and easy; something not to be taken for granted in this busy area. Members of staff are very polite, friendly and helpful.

Mosquitos are a problem – throughout the region and including this hotel.

Ah … so this is a wet room! Due to plumbing problems or because of water overflowing from the shower tray, the en-suite floor is never dry. The shower area itself, is small, narrow and uncomfortable. Air conditioning is very erratic; not what you want in this climate. Wi-Fi is also on the ‘blink’. Rooms are generally OK, but let down in no small measure by the very dated bathroom. The balcony is obviously designed by the person who designed the shower. It’s tiny and more like a ‘ledge’.

There’s no lift, so exercise is guaranteed. The large pool is family friendly and another way to keep fit – but only until early evening when it closes!
