The Surfers Del Rey is a short three minute walk to the nearest shops and the Gold Coasts' theme parks are all within an easy drive from the hotel.
Guests really loved that the hotel was right next to the river which for many was calming and relaxing. Guests liked the views across the canal from their balconies and for many it was their favourite spot to relax at the end of a long day sightseeing.
Children travelling with their parents spent a lot of time at the pool, much to their parents delight. Parents were happy that the area was well maintained and safe enough to let the kids play about in.
The hotel is close to Cavill Avenue and the restaurants and bars around the entertainment precinct. The proximity to the action was by far and away the best and in most cases reason for guests choosing to stay here.
Guests complained via their reviews about a number of things that did not work or did not work as they should, which was a source of annoyance during their stay including TV remotes that did not work, broken ceiling fans, no extra toilet papers and old furniture.
Guests signalled their concern that the walk back from Surfers Paradise to the hotel was not particularly well lit and the the lighting aroudn the hotel was fairly dark and that it was dificult to navigate in the wee hours.
