The Sunray Guest House is housed within an Art Deco building. It offers harbour views and is near to Snowdonia National Park. Accommodation consists of double or twin bed rooms. All rooms come complete with digital televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and complimentary Wi-Fi. Sunray Guest House has secure parking for guests and a garden area. It is entirely non-smoking and there is Wi-Fi throughout. Breakfast is no longer included in the room rate. Prices have been adjusted downwards to reflect this change. There are however, three cafes within a one-minute walk in the harbour area and these serve a range of breakfasts and snacks. Snowdonia National Park surrounds the Guest House. The main visitor’s centre is an hour’s drive away. The blue flag beaches can be accessed in two minutes on foot.
The rooms here are immaculately clean. They have been refurbished to a modern standard with tasteful décor. All the facilities required are provided such as a kettle, tea and coffee, plenty of electrical sockets and ample hot water in the shower. Many rooms offer stunning views and chairs are strategically placed by the windows to allow the full enjoyment of the scenery.
The couple who run this guest house are extremely welcoming and friendly. Their charm and good nature are one of the reasons that guests return time and time again. They are non-intrusive, but happy to help when required.
Around the guesthouse is a garden and there is also a safe lock-up garage for bikes and motorbikes. Beyond the building is the stunning local scenery, including wonderful views of the estuary and harbour. Some very good eateries are just a few minutes’ walk away.
Some former visitors had issues with the lack of breakfast or bar within the guesthouse. The vast majority however, are more than happy to walk the two minutes to the harbour area where there are cafes to have breakfast. For other meals and drinks, there are pubs and cafes in the local town.
The vast majority of guests have only good things to say about this accommodation. A minority felt that the guesthouse was average, with small rooms, made more charming by the welcoming owners. For some it was overpriced considering room size and that there is no food or drink served.
On some occasions the Wi-Fi does not have a strong enough signal to connect. It can either be completely unavailable, or very slow.
