Hotel Sultan Palace (Istanbul, Turkey)

For the rates charged, most guests found this hotel to be reasonably good. There were delightful coffee tables on the rooftop terrace where guests could relax. There was a free computer with Internet at the reception, which guests found handy. Guests also liked the breakfast. They could have tea/coffee throughout the day. Filtered water was also available in the cooler, so they could fill their bottles before going out every day. Air conditioning and use of safes was included in the room rate. New slippers were offered every day. Wi-Fi was also reliable. All the necessary toiletries were provided in the bathrooms. Water pressure in the showers was also good.

Guests found the staff to be helpful, friendly and cooperative. They had sufficient knowledge about the place. The owner himself was friendly and a great person for advice. Staff was always ready to save guests from the fleecing taxi drivers. The tour desk arranged taxis for visits to local attractions at a fixed amount to be paid. Their hospitality made guests feel at home.

Guests liked the central location of the hotel as there are many places of interests within walking distances from the hotel. Istanbul is best seen on foot from this hotel.

Most of the hotel staff is not fluent in English, so communication was a problem for many guests.

Guests were not happy with the beds as blankets and duvets were absent. The noise from neighbouring rooms was disturbing. There was no heating in the rooms though the temperature outside was four degrees.
