The hotel is ideal for longer stays but its in-room features were also appreciated by guests staying for shorter periods of time. They liked the fact that the rooms were equipped with a full kitchen which boasted a microwave, a refrigerator, utensils, cookware and cleaning supplies. They also stated that the rooms were clean with bedding and towels being fresh and bright, and most guests enjoyed the comfortable mattresses.

The hotel provides guests with free use of its washers and dryers, access to its board games, DVDs and small appliances. Instead of having to seek out a grocery store, guests can buy items from the Candlewood Cupboard, which features a variety of items from cereal to drinks and laundry detergent.

Guests found the staff to be professional and polite, and they stated that special requests such as switching rooms, checking out late or hailing a cab were executed swiftly.

While most guests found that housekeeping did a good job, a few noted that the cleaning between guests had been less than thorough, as trash bins were not emptied and the bathrooms weren't spotless.

Guests ending up in rooms that hadn't yet been refurbished noted that some of the furniture was worn and had holes and the shower drains were clogged. Some of the renovated non-smoking rooms have previously been used as smoking rooms, and some guests reported that the evidence of this was obvious by the smell of cold smoke.

A few guests pointed out that the highway traffic could be heard at night, and sometimes pets can be heard barking.
